Description |
Black and white slide of the Guelph Highland Cadets, led by Captain Clark, posing in a group photograph. There are around fifty-seven boys in this photo, plus a man at the far right who could likely be Captain Clark. The cadets' uniform consists of: a tartan kilt and scarf; dark jacket, socks and a cap with a feather in; white shoes with black toes; and the traditional Scottish pouch worn over the kilt. Some of the boys are also holding rifles. They are standing in a field with tents in the background. According to Donald Coulman's notes, the photograph was taken at the West end of Exhibition Park. However, the background (and foreground) appears as though it was hand-drawn or painted, and the photograph of the cadets was super-imposed over top. There is a thick white border on both the top and bottom edges of the photo, and a caption on the bottom which reads: Capt. Clark's Famous Highland Cadets, Guelph. |
