Black and white aerial photograph of Guelph Carpet and Worsted Spinning Mills, circa 1950. The photograph was taken by Raeburn Reid of Reid Flying Service. The photograph shows Neeve, Ontario, Arthur and Cross Streets. In the lower Right is one of the plants with Arthur Street (formerly Queen Street) running to its Right, Cross Street in behind and Ontario Street to the Left, ending at Neeve Street. Neeve Street runs in front of the second plant and the Speed River runs to the Right of the second plant across the photograph from Left to Right and under the Bridge on Wyndham Street South. Just on the other side of the River is the Burrows textile plant, and near the Left top of the frame at the corner of Wellington Street and Wyndham Street South (formerly Huskisson Street) is the Guelph Caskets Limited. Printed in blue ink on the reverse: "Arthur St. Casket works near top left" "Ontario St." "carpet mill?" stamped in black ink: "832B" |
