Description |
Black and white, studio group portrait, with a narrow white border around the image and a black mount, of a soccer team identified as the Guelph Rovers. The goalie, wearing long hose and shin pads, is holding a soccer ball on which is written, "GUELPH ROVERS 1906". A trophy is on the floor in front of him. All the players are wearing dark knee socks, laced boots, light-coloured shorts and jerseys, each with a large letter 'R' applied to the front. A man in the middle of the back row is wearing a dark suit with a white shirt, light-coloured bow-tie and a white handkerchief in his chest pocket. In lower proper left corner of image: KENNEDY / GUELPH." Printed identification on the mount of those in the photograph has faded and is no longer legible. The only part which can be deciphered is: "CHAMPIONS GUELPH CITY LEAGUE". |
