Description |
This slide depicts members of the Scottish community marching in the Guelph Heritage Day Parade in St. George's Square. Looking east on Quebec St, people are gathered at the sides of the street, watching as Scottish bagpipers pass by. The two men in front are dressed in highland costumes and playing the bagpipes, while behind them marches a person in similar Scottish dress playing a drum. Beyond the three musicians, to the right, is Jack Crosbie, also in Scottish dress. Behind him in the distance are other people in Scottish dress, holding signs that read: "Guelph Junior Scottish Country Dance Group" and "Scottish Country Dancers". To the left is the head stage, where Mayor Norm Jary and other Sesquicentennial committee members are standing. In the background are the CIBC and Robert Q's Travel Mart buildings |
