Description |
Colour slide of the Founding Site in Guelph with smoke from the Legion fire in the distance. Looking west on Macdonell St., the stone wall with the founding plaque on it is at the far left, behind where the green Volkswagon is entering the intersection. This is the spot where John Galt fell the first tree, founding Guelph. The CNR overpass is above it. In the street at the corner there is a small traffic island with a sign on it that says "Surrey St." Cars are driving down Macdonell St., and in the distance there is smoke on the skyline, the silhouette of the Church of Our Lady, the Co-Operators Building, and at the right a car dealership. |
