Description |
Rectangular cigar box made of stiff, thick cardboard. Lid opens at front and is attached at back. Every side and top and bottom is bordered with red with the words "Daily Double" and "DD" in white. Box held 100 cigars. Lid has large white sticker with "Bennett's of Guelph" written in green. Long thin sticker did seal box at one side. Remainder of box is beige and designed to look like wood. Inside of lid has image of racing horses and "Daily Double Cigars" written in yellow and white. Inside is lined in plain beige paper. On sticker: "Bennett's of Guelph/ Phone 2158/ 56-58 Macdonnell St. Guelph, Ont./ Mens' Clothing/ Furnishings and Shoes" In space for address on sticker is written in pencil: "Jewellry Junk" On three sides: "Daily Double" and "Imperial Tobacco Company of Canada, Limited" on one side. "Jeweller Junk" hand-written in pencil on back side. "5c (Claro)" also on front side. On sticker that sealed box: "2-23D BCB/ One hundred cigars/ Canada/ 2250305". Inside: "Daily Double Cigars/ Double Value- Double Satisfaction/ Daily Double". |
