Description |
Third degree Order of Merit medal presented to Alfred Wilford by the Royal City Lodge (No. 11) of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes on 21 September 1935. Medal in shape of cross with superimposed buffalo head, suspended from red ribbon with ornamental bronze bars in the shape of buffalo horns at top and bottom. The long straight pin at top is back. A small round red, white and blue pin is on the ribbon. Engraved along top of the bronze metal bar is "1st Deg. 5. Sept.1922". Engraved along lower bronze metal bar is "2nd Deg. 11. July. 1929." The maker's mark and an inscription is engraved on back of cross. The inscription reads: "This Order of Merit and Honour of Knighthood was conferred upon Bro. Alfred Wilford, C.P. By the Royal City Lodge No.11 / 21 Sept. 1935 / As a Mark of Appreciation for Services in the Cause of Buffaloism and Their Regard for Him As a Man and A Brother" |
