Model of First Church Paisley Street Methodist |
Description |
Handmade wooden and cardboard model of Paisley Street Methodist Church. Structure of 1/2" square doweling with four vertical corner beams and four horizontal beams framing in the top and another set framing in the bottom. The roof is supported by six pieces mounted to a horizontal beam at the top creating a peaked roof, as can be seen through the opening in the back of the model. A cardboard layer covers the frame and supports it and has been painted. Entire building is red with taupe roof and grey foundation. Base and back of building are the beige colour of the cardboard. Either side of the model has six multi-pane windows, the longer ones are on top and the shorter ones on bottom. The front of the model has the appearance of brick with fine brown lines covering the surface and all around the painted side the windows appear inset with column like portions of wall extending outward on either side. The front door has a decorative window above it and there are two long and two short windows on either side of the door way. Below the door the cardboard is ripped as though a piece is missing and the cardboard supports through the bottom are cut off. In the peak at the top of the building is a small window. The front of the roof has gold flashing which is being held on by scotch tape. |
